Ceremonial Farewell for the Graduates of the Department of Information Sciences

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam bid farewell to its graduates from the Bachelor's degree programmes in Archival Studies, Library Sciences and Information and Data Management at a festive event on the 16th of May 2025.
The graduation ceremony took place in the lecture hall of House D and honoured the achievements of the students from the summer semester 2024 and the winter semester 2024/25. The welcome address by the Dean, Prof. Dr Ellen Euler, was followed by the ceremonial presentation of certificates. Other items on the programme included honouring the best students of the year and particularly committed students who had worked on committees for the department. Potsdam pianist Sebastian Kommerell provided the musical accompaniment for the event. The humorous closing speech by students Robynne-Marie Winkler and Felix Zimmermann led on to Christian Mosau's presentation of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam support organisation, before the evening came to a cosy close in the foyer. The FH Potsdam Supporters’ Association was also represented there with an information and merchandise stand.
A total of around 70 people from graduates, family members and friends, alumni and members of the Department of Information Sciences took part. The event not only offered space to celebrate, but also to network and exchange ideas between graduates, family members, alumni and lecturers. Feedback on the organisation and atmosphere of the evening was consistently positive. The department would like to thank everyone involved ? especially the FH Potsdam Supporters’ Association, whose support was instrumental in making the event a success.
